Lourdes — Revelation of Heaven

In 2018 we are celebrating the 160th Anniversary of Our Lady at Lourdes. Our Lady appeared eighteen times, from the 11th of February to the 16th of July 1858. The 11th of February, which is the annual memorial of the apparitions of the Mother of God in Lourdes, was celebrated by Saint Maximilian with great devotion.
The apparitions of the Mother of God in Lourdes took place at a time when freemasonry was spreading its perfidious and pernicious ideology about paradise on earth and the boundless happiness of man here and now. At Lourdes, the Immaculata especially reminds us of the purpose for which we were created. Lourdes is the revelation of the mystery of Heaven.

The Nature, Dignity and Mission of Woman

There comes a time in the life of a young person when he begins to ask himself: “Who am I, really? What distinguishes me from other people, from the things around me?” Usually it is the stress of the first painful experiences of life that causes him to ask further about the meaning of the whole thing: “Why am I the way that I am? Why am I in this situation? Why am I living in precisely this time and at this place?” And at some time or other the moment comes when one gains an awareness of one’s sex, often by confronting the opposite sex and experiencing the difference, indeed, the opposition between the two. Not uncommonly a girl arrives at this question because she feels at a disadvantage compared with the boy and perhaps jealously notices that he is stronger. She notices that out there in public life a man is much less exposed to danger and is much more entitled than a woman. After all, even today he plays the leading role in cultural and political life, and the whole Church is governed by men only. No wonder a girl then experiences the desire to be like a man herself; indeed, she no longer enjoys being a woman at all.

Marian Meditations Part I

In the first volume of his “Marian Meditations”, Father Idelfonso Villa, SDB makes us penetrate the intimacy of the most Blessed Trinity shaping Our Lady from all eternity and in time. In the Old Testament, one holy woman prefigures Her ascendancy on the heart of God, another Her queenship and Her intercessory power in favour of Her own people.

Marian Meditations Part II

In the second volume of his “Marian Meditations”, Fr. Idelfonso Villa, makes us contemplate the Mother of God from Christ’s cradle to His burial. At long last, Mary sees the face of the Word Incarnate, Her divine Son. A few adore Him in His manger and in the Temple of Jerusalem. And yet, how true the words of Simeon that “this child shall be a sign of contradiction”. Exiled in Egypt, He then hides Himself at Nazareth. Mary and Joseph silently marvel at God’s wisdom, goodness and beauty.

Mary, My Mother

In foreword of book “Mary, My Mother” Fr. Joseph Schryvers wrote: “Many saints and scholars devoted to the Blessed Virgin have proclaimed her praises, described her privileges, and celebrated her grandeurs. As for me, dear reader, I would not know how to teach you anything new about the Mother of God, nor how to say anything worthy of her.
But if you are or wish to be a child of Mary, you will read this little book because it speaks of your Mother; you will feel a secret impulse to reread it; you will discover in it new glimpses and profound thoughts which the author himself has not suspected and which he, unassisted, would not have been able to express in words; you will experience upon reading it an emotion which you will be unable to trace to its source.
Remember that no treatise on the Blessed Virgin is an ordinary book. When you are reading it, you are, without knowing it, under a higher influence; you are in contact with a sublime personality, ineffably pure and beneficent; you are drawn by her goodness and fascinated by her charms.”

A Month with Mary

This little book, “A Month with Mary”, originated from an act of charity of Father Dolindo. Laura de Rosis, a person from Rossano Calabro, asked him for spiritual thoughts for every day of the month of May. The good Father Dolindo wrote thirty-one meditations for her, one for every day of the month. It was thus: everything for every soul, and his charity didn’t make it seem exaggerated for him to write “A Month with Mary” for just one soul!
This work is from 1912: one of those years which passed in the life of Father Dolindo with the cadence of a “Way of the Cross” … But he, serene as ever, loved Christ the more, loved Our Lady the more and reflected this love in these few pages to which he wished to give the significant title: A Profound Reform of Heart in the School of Mary.
These meditations are written in the style of the Imitation of Christ. Meditations for just one soul! May these pages now reach every soul who reads them as an entirely personal word, a comfort from Heaven and a portent of holiness.

Life of Union with Mary

The book treats of an ordinary and of a mystical union with Mary. The latter term may frighten some readers, suggesting all kinds of strange phenomena found in the lives of the saints, such as revelations, visions, apparitions, ecstasies, and raptures. “That’s not for me,” they will say. They are right in thinking that such unusual things will probably never occur in their own lives. But that is not what we have in mind in speaking of mystical union with Mary. There is question here of an interior action of the Blessed Virgin, beyond complete human comprehension, which permits the person to act like anyone else except that his union with Mary is much more intimate, more loving, and more fruitful. This will be explained in the second part of the book. Even persons who will never arrive at such a more intimate union will profit by reading the section which treats of it, because it will make them understand more clearly the suggestions and practices connected with ordinary union with Mary.

My ideal, Jesus, Son of Mary

The Christian who aims at perfection endeavors to imitate Jesus Christ as completely as possible. Among all the traits of the Divine Model one of the most beautiful to imitate is His filial piety to Mary our Mother — His Mother and ours.
My Ideal has been found to be an efficient aid in this Marian program of life. It leads to a firm, manly, intimate devotion of consecration to the Blessed Mother. It is presently treasured by many priests, sisters, brothers and lay people, young and old, as a blueprint for a Christian way of life under the aegis of Mary Immaculate.

The foot of the Cross

In preface the author of book, Fr. Frederick Wiliam Faber wrote: “The beauty of Jesus is inexhaustible. If we love Him we must love her. We must know her in order to know Him. As there is no true devotion to His Sacred Humanity, which is not mindful of His Divinity, so there is no adequate love of the Son, which disjoins Him from His Mother, and lays her aside as a mere instrument, whom God chose as He might choose an inanimate thing, without regard to its sanctity or moral fitness. Now it is our daily task to love Jesus more and more.”

Meditations on the mysteries of the Rosary

The Rosary is the favorite prayer of heaven and earth. No other prayer has been recommended by Our Lady in her visitations from heaven to earth like the Rosary. No other prayer has been so frequently praised, commended, and even commanded by the Popes, or enriched by them with such great indulgences, as the Rosary.

The True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary

“Thousands of souls perish because Mary is withheld from them. It is the miserable unworthy shadow which we call our devotion to the Blessed Virgin that is the cause of all these wants and blights, these evils and omissions and declines. Yet, if we are to believe the revelations of the Saints, God is pressing for a greater, a wider, a stronger, quite another devotion to His Blessed Mother. I cannot think of a higher work or a broader vocation for any one than the simple spreading of this peculiar devotion of the Venerable Grignion de Montfort. Oh, if Mary were but known, how much more wonderful would be our faith, and how different would our Communions be!” — wrote Fr. William Faber on preface of this book.
